A powerful tornado swept through eastern Pennsylvania Thursday night, injuring at least five people and leaving a trail of destruction in its wake.

Storms swept through Bucks County, with two separate tornadoes making landfall – and one devastated the town of Bensalem, the Bucks County Courier Times reported.

A car dealership and mobile home park in the neighborhood, near the New Jersey border, were ravaged by the tornado.

Five people inside the car dealership were injured after half of the building collapsed, Fred Harran, director of public safety at Bensalem Police Force, told the newspaper.

A woman inside the building when it collapsed said the rapid storm came on with little warning.

“I heard the alarm on my phone and it was seconds later that we sensed something was going on in the building,” Joanne Szupka told the newspaper.

“The whole thing lasted about 90 seconds. “

Szupka sought refuge under a desk and was later rescued from the building.

Other witnesses posted images of the shocking consequences of the storm on Twitter.

“I just had a tornado through Bensalem,” wrote a Twitter user who recorded video of overturned vehicles and what appears to be the collapsed car dealership building.
