BOSTON – A subway car derailed in Boston, sending nine people to the hospital.
Local emergency officials said none of these injuries put their lives at risk.
Officials from the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority said the accident occurred around 11 am on Saturday when a Green Line subway car derailed in a tunnel near Kenmore Square.
A tenth individual was reportedly injured but refused treatment.
Rescuers told witnesses that everything had become black and that they had been thrown around the wagon.
The cause of the derailment is under study.
The derailment resulted in significant delays in the transit system.
