Quick thoughts on a 67-65 win over Iowa:

How did it happen: Things were grim in early Indiana. Iowa made their first three 3 points and led 17-4 at 1:09 pm of the first half. It looked like the Hawkeyes could run the Hoosiers right off Branch McCracken Court. Indiana, however, had an answer. And he was mainly fueled by his youth. Jordan Geromino, Anthony Leal and Khristian Lander all gave the Hoosiers good minutes and with Luka Garza on the bench with two fouls, IU made his choice. After Iowa led 31-24 with 2:44 left before halftime on a Joe Wieskamp layup, Indiana scored the last nine points before intermission to claim a 33-31 lead.

This momentum, however, would be short-lived. Archie Miller returned with his starters to start the second half. By the time Miller brought Geronimo, Leal and Lander back at 3:43 PM, Indiana was trailing 38-35. The Hoosiers came back to within one at 11:33 on a 3-pointer from Trey Galloway, but Iowa pushed him back to six after a pair of free throws and a 3-pointer by Jordan Bohannon. The Hoosiers responded again as Trayce Jackson-Davis tied the game at 53 with a 3-point game at 6:06. Indiana regained the lead on a layup from Armaan Franklin with 5:05 to go.

After Indiana missed three of four free throws, Iowa opened up a 3-point lead on two back-to-back buckets from Garza. IU responded with a 3 point Rob Phinisee with 1:39 to go. Garza shared a pair of free throws on the possession that followed to give Iowa a 62-61 lead. IU then responded with a bucket of Race Thompson to regain the lead with 55.8 seconds left. The Hoosiers then got a save and Jackson-Davis was fouled and made both free throws to give IU a 3-point lead. Bohannon responded with a 3 point with 27 seconds remaining. This set the stage for Armaan Franklin, who had a long 2 with 1.6 seconds remaining to bring IU to his 10th victory.

Outstanding Interpreter: Trayce Jackson-Davis (17 points, 12 rebounds) and Race Thompson (15 points, six rebounds) were both great for the Hoosiers. The duo combined to shoot 12 of 22 from the field. Thompson added four blocked shots.

Statistics that stand out: Indiana scored 17 points on 11 Iowa turnovers. The Hoosiers also held Iowa at 0.96 points per possession, a season low for the Hawkeyes.
