The Atlanta Falcons fired scout Rodrik David for his refusal to get a COVID-19 vaccine.
According to a statement from the team, Falcons owner Arthur Blank has demanded that all regular full-time and part-time associates of his business empire receive the vaccine. The policy was announced in August and went into effect on Friday.
“During the months of August and September, the company followed the process with partners,” the statement said.

David could not be reached for comment. Neither Falcons spokespersons nor an NFL spokesperson responded to DailyMail.com’s request for additional information about staff members fired for refusing to be vaccinated against COVID-19.
While NFL players are only encouraged to get vaccinated, and not mandatory, Level 1 NFL staff are encouraged to get vaccinated in order to work directly with players. So far, New England Patriots coach Cole Popovich is said to be the only Level 1 staff member to be fired due to politics, but Minnesota Vikings assistant Rick Dennison has been reassigned to an analyst role so he doesn’t have to work directly with players.
