Three things
- THE GREAT IMAGE: It does not help the team's hopes for the playoffs, but it's still an encouraging performance for Caleb Porter's men in one of the league's toughest circuits. They can rely on this performance to try to close the track of the season on a positive note. Atlanta is still comfortably above the playoff line with 15-11-3 and 48 points, but they were largely outclassed for much of the game. Their attempt to take the # 1 seed in the East may have been coming and going on Saturday as they are now nine points behind NYCFC.
- MOMENT OF THE GAME: Diaz's goal was a magnificent finish and the culmination of a fantastic Columbus response coming out of the halftime locker room.
- MAN OF THE GAMEOn this note, Diaz also nods here for his second-half exploits. Costa Rica now has two goals and three assists in 10 games of the season.
