A Thanksgiving morning fire – sparked by efforts to fry a turkey – spread through three New Bedford buildings and displaced more than two dozen people and injured at least one Thursday.
The New Bedford Fire Department said on its Facebook page that it responded to the fire at 16 Washburn Street just before 10 a.m. A resident told WCVB that the fire started with an explosion.
Officials told WCVB that three structures were involved in the blaze, displacing at least 27 people and sending one person to hospital with unknown injuries.
The fire is still under investigation.
