Auburn will face Northwestern in the Citrus Bowl without his top cornerback.
Roger McCreary will not be available for the game, sources told AL.com.
This will create challenges for the Tigers’ high school, especially with Auburn who should also be without leaving nickel Christian Tutt. McCreary leads the team with three interceptions.
But while those two are out, a different Tigers defensive back who shouldn’t be available for the game could end up playing.
After initially telling people around the program that he wasn’t going to play in the game, security Jamien Sherwood – who treated an ankle injury – changed his mind and traveled with the team to Florida, according to sources.
Sherwood, a potential NFL Draft on Day 2, ranks third over the Tigers with 65 tackles.
