Auburn vs. Mississippi State Postponed; SEC COVID Problems Worsening

Saturday’s game between Auburn and Mississippi State has been postponed due to positive COVID-19 tests and the subsequent quarantine of individuals in the Bulldogs’ program.

The SEC has announced that the game is tentatively postponed to December 12.

Shortly before the league announcement, Illustrated sportsof Ross Dellenger reported The state of Mississippi was battling an outbreak of COVID-19 and planned to temporarily shut down all football activities.

The news comes amid a COVID crisis surrounding the SEC. Texas A&M coach Jimbo Fisher announced that the Aggies will not be training on Monday due to several positive COVID-19 tests within the program. The team found out on Sunday that two people – a player and a hardworking student – who had traveled with the team for their win over South Carolina on Saturday had tested positive. Texas A&M will meet virtually on Monday as it quarantines players and conducts contact tracing procedures.
