SPOKANE, Wash. – You will have a greater than average chance to see Spokane and North Idaho's northern lights this weekend.
4 New Now weather forecaster, Mark Peterson, said a geomagnetic storm would occur over Canada and produce northern lights, also known as aurora borealis.
A new phase of the moon has recently begun, making the conditions even more favorable for observing the aurora borealis. The best place to observe the phenomenon is further afield in the countryside or wherever there is little light pollution.
