A group of lawmakers warned this week that "deadly heat waves" would become more common in Britain because of climate change. The Environmental Audit Committee warned that heat – related deaths would triple to 7,000 every year by 2050 if the government does not act.
Homes, hospitals, and nursing homes that are designed to keep the heat on may also overheat, the committee found.
