Lewis Hamilton lost his head when teammate Mercedes Valtteri Bottas broke down to provide virtual safety and his own race ended with a late engine failure.

Sébastien Vettel started his sixth Ferrari, penalized three grid positions to hinder a rival in the qualification, but fought back to finish third. Hamilton failed to score, Vettel took the lead in the 146-145 championship.

Ricciardo's teammate, Verstappen, who finished fourth, held Kimi Raikkonen in check in the other Ferrari to celebrate his fourth career and first win of the season.
