According to Blizzard, Overwatch's Looking for Group works

Overwatch Looking for Group is supposed to help players find better team mates. Blizzard encourages players to find a group of five players Overwatch to team up and stay with them – a way to make the games more competitive and more enjoyable.

Blizzard Also Saw a slight rise in the use of the group search function at the beginning of the competitive 11th season of Overwatch . The players line up to be competitive thanks to this feature launched at the beginning of the season last weekend. The use has remained in a consistent pattern since then.

Still, the group search function is not perfect. Kaplan has promised that updates and coming in the next patch. He did not develop the details of these improvements, but a previous post suggested that Blizzard was working to make the filling process more intuitive, among other things.

The group search function has been added alongside player endorsements with Symmetra. reworking the patch on June 26th. Horizon Lunar Colony has also been targeted as part of this patch, with hero adjustments to McCree, Orisa and Doomfist, too.
