A SYDNEY blogger went on Instagram to share her outrage at the treatment that she and her daughter received at a local coffee shop.
Vanessa Maldonado, a self-proclaimed "influencer" who posts on social media as Child Blogger, has chosen The Hanging Ladder in Balmain because of her popularity online for kids. But when the chicken nuggets and chips arrived at the table for her 4-year-old daughter Mia, she was less than impressed by the portion sizes.
The dish, which consisted of four nuggets and a few corners, was priced at $ 8.50.
"I was a little surprised by the number of nuggets and size, which would be about the size of a 20-cent piece," she wrote on Instagram.
"I asked the waitress if she had made a mistake and she said that she would ask the chef, she came back to let us know that the chef had said that it was the right amount. "
Not satisfied with the way she was treated, the mother-of-two asked to talk to the manager who, she says, became "defensive" while explaining that "the cost of the plate was 2 $ plus the cost of running the business and paying staff. "
Vanessa told to Kidspot that she was surprised by her aggressive behavior and that she had badumed that he "would solve our problem very quickly by just adding more nuggets and that would be all. "
Instead, she stated that the discussion ended with the manager taking over the dish, leaving Mia without a meal. The blogger said her daughter did not understand what had happened and asked where her meal was gone.
"The owner did not even offered to ask if we wanted something else or suggested another children's item, so she ate a few chips from her father's plate and luckily I had wrapped snacks in her bag that she had to eat instead, "Vanessa said.
However, when Kidpspot approached coffee owner Andrew for comment, he refuted that, stating that the plate was removed "only after checking with parents whether they wanted it or not.
