The Brainards says to the organizers of the competition that Zsa Zsa was a "puppy-mill dog" for five years in Missouri. She was sent to a dog auction and later bought by Underdog Rescue.

"As soon as we saw her beautiful face, we knew that we would be her home forever, we are so excited for her, she deserves it." According to the Contest Website
