SUSPENDED Australian captain Steve Smith signed with the Tridents of Barbados in the Caribbean Premier League to replace Shakib Al Hasan.
Smith is serving a 12-month suspension imposed by Cricket Australia for his role in a ball falsification scandal during a series of tests in South Africa in March that plunged his national team into disorder.
