Panorama's first night canceled due to weather

Panorama, the end-of-year music festival in New York, was about to begin this afternoon. Fans were already on the grounds of Randall's Island. But at the last minute, the organizers of the festival announced that they had to cancel the festivities today because of the "bad weather".

Performers at tonight's shows included Weeknd, Migos, Father John Misty, The War on Drugs. Lipa, Charlotte Gainsbourg and Yaeji. Once upon a time, a festival like this would have scrambled things up during the remaining days to make room for as many canceled night artists as possible. But that sort of thing does not seem to happen anymore, and most of these artists probably have other gigs for the rest of the weekend. In any case, the festival plans to reopen for tomorrow Janet Jackson / SZA / Gucci Mane / St. Vincent Bill

We are evacuating the island because of bad weather. Please leave the way you entered. Ferries and shuttles run and the pedestrian bridge is open. Panorama has been canceled for today and we will meet again tomorrow. pic.twitter.com/jrzEf9V8oj
