Facebook-owned instant messaging service WhatsApp has been constantly working to improve the platform. Recently added the company "Delete for Everyone" feature with new rules. We also came across an upcoming feature that will help you enjoy your vacation in peace. Now, seems like it's more secure on iOS.
As spotted by WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is working on adding support for ID Touch and Face ID for iPhones. The option for the same will be available under Privacy Settings. If you own an iPhone X or above, you will see an option called Face ID. It will be available for the X iPhone, XS iPhone, iPhone XS Max and iPhone XR. However, if you have an older iPhone, you will see an option called Touch ID. The feature will be supported on iOS 8 and above.

When Face ID or Touch ID is enabled, every time you open WhatsApp, it will ask you to authenticate using your fingerprint or face. In case of failed attempt where the phone fails to detect your face or fingerprint, it will prompt you to enter your 6-digit iPhone pbadcode.
As of now, the feature is in the middle of the stage, and there is no word on the feature will eventually roll out. However, it is good to know that WhatsApp is working on making more secure chats. While we would hope to see a similar feature on the Android app too, there is no sign of the same happening.
Talking about upcoming features, Vacation Mode, Silent Mode and Linked Account options were spotted in the previous build of WhatsApp. The Vacation Mode, when they are going to be, and they are coming back. Similarly, Silent Mode will ensure that the app icon does not show notification when new messages arrive. Lastly, Linked Account feature will allow users to link their Instagram and Facebook accounts with WhatsApp, which can be used for pbadword recovery, if and when required.
