CRYSTAL PALACE 2-2 ARSENAL

FT: And breathe. Arsenal’s 11-game winning streak will remain at 11, but It’s 12 undefeated for Unai Emery’s side. Crystal Palace earn a valuable point and score their first two goals at Selhurst Park.

I’m heading over to bring you LIVE coverage of Manchester United vs Everton. Come and join me by clicking HERE.

94: Matteo Guendouzi collects a yellow for stopping Mayer on the break. This is certain to be the last chance of the day. It’s sent in but Tomkins is offside.

92: Jason Puncheon fouls Lucas Torreira around 25-yards from goal in a central position. Granit Xhaka runs over and sets the ball down – he fancies this!

The Swiss steps up… over. Struck well enough but no direction.

90: Four added minutes. No response fro either set of supporters – you sense both would be happy with a draw now!

89: Ever since that second equaliser, Unai Emery has been gesturing furiously at his players demanding more energy. He just called Alexandre Lacazette over to the touchline and had both hands on his face shouting encouragement.

88: Van Aanholt collects the ball around 20-yards from goal but his dragged effort deflects off of Sorloth and goes out for a goal kick. Cheikhou Kouyate is replaced by Jason Puncheon.

85: There’s a serious atmosphere here inside Selhurst Park now as the Eagles fans raise the volume a notch… or nine! Unai Emery might be regretting taking off Mesut Ozil and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang around now…

CRYSTAL PALACE 2-2 ARSENAL | MILIVOJEVIC

83: Converted! Bernd Leno guessed the right way but there was far too much power on that from Luka Milivojevic. We’re level with seven minutes plus added time to be played.

PENALTY TO CRYSTAL PALACE

82: The hosts have ANOTHER penalty! Wilfried Zaha twists and turns into the penalty area and goes down under a challenge from Granit Xhaka. Not sure about that myself – he went down rather easily…

80: Booked! Stephan Lichtsteiner goes into the referee’s book when cynically dragging Wilfried Zaha down on the left touchline. Nothing doing as the ball is cleared.

78: Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s afternoon is over. He’s replaced by Aaron Ramsey. The Gabon international didn’t look to pleased with that decision either.

76: Crystal Palace are calling for a penalty as Wan-Bissaka’s cross appears to come off Shkodran Mustafi’s arm – but referee Martin Atkinson isn’t interested.

73: Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s goal was over the line by 9mm apparently… Unai Emery will be thankful for goal-line technology because that would NOT have been given a few years ago.

70: The line-ups have been announced for Everton’s trip to Manchester United. You can see those and follow updates by clicking here!

69: The hosts are all over Arsenal as we enter the final 20 minutes. Milivojevic finds space to fire one from 25 yards but it flies over the crossbar.

66: Ooooh, Mesut Ozil didn’t like that. The German, who is captain today, throws his gloves at the bench after being taken off. Doesn’t look happy to be substituted at all. Danny Welbeck on.

63: Close! Crystal Palace have responded well since falling behind in controversial circumstances. They seemed fired up by Alexandre Lacazette’s handball. Zaha finds Mayer and his fierce angled strike cannons off the post and away to safety.

60: Roy Hodgson makes an immediate change with Max Meyer replacing James McArthur.

57: Arsenal’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has now been directly involved in 22 goals in 23 Premier League games (17 goals, 5 badists).

CRYSTAL PALACE 1-2 ARSENAL | AUBAMEYANG

55: All change please, all change! Arsenal have completely turned this game around inside ten minutes of the second half – but this is controversial!

Alexandre Lacazette appears to have raised his arm inside the penalty area and flicked a corner into the path of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who pokes home at the far post.

The referee checks his watch… the goal stands. The Eagles protest but without VAR the goal stands.

CRYSTAL PALACE 1-1 ARSENAL | XHAKA

51: It’s an absolute thunderbolt from Granit Xhaka! Goodness me, I never expected that from the Swiss international.

Everyone’s expecting a sweeping low cross from the free-kick but Xhaka decides to go for goal with a thumping, curling strike that cannons off the stanchion and leaves Wayne Hennessey motionless.

50: Matteo Guendouzi does some stellar work in midfield when pinching the ball away from Cheikhou Kouyate. He lays it off to Lucas Torreira and Luka Milivojevic bundles him over.

Dangerous free-kick for Arsenal just outside the penalty area on the right…

47: Ah, apparently Hector Bellerin is injured and that’s why he was taken off.

46: Arsenal are dominating the ball, but Roy Hodgson has his side nice and compact. Not a great deal of space for the Gunners to work with – and they’ve not been quick enough going forward to create any.

CRYSTAL PALACE 1-0 ARSENAL

45: And we’re back underway! Arsenal are a second-half team, eh? We’re about to find out what they are really made of!

Arsenal make a change with Stephan Lichtsteiner replacing Hector Bellerin. I’ve no idea why that has been done – the Spaniard didn’t look injured…

Twitter round-up

JJ: Need to sort out this left-back situation quickly… all our attacks have originated from the right… left side is just dead with Granit Xhaka over there.

Guy: Fair play to Crystal Palace; they have been lively, and Mustafi has gone and Mustafi-ed just before the break (twice, actually).

Nick: Arsenal with no energy that half. Lacked movement and cutting edge. Another goal gifted to the opposition due to a defensive mistake.

CRYSTAL PALACE 1-0 ARSENAL

HT: Crystal Palace lead at Selhurst Park after Luka Milivojevic’s penalty. You can’t really say they don’t deserve it having applied most of the pressure. Arsenal have started another game slowly – and they’ve been punished for it. Big second half required to save their winning run!

Luka Milivojevic’s penalty ended a run of 417 minutes (six hours, 57 mins) without a goal at Selhurst Park for Crystal Palace in the Premier League.

CRYSTAL PALACE 1-0 ARSENAL | MILIVOJEVIC

45: Punished! Crystal Palace score their first goal of the season at Selhurst Park from the penalty spot. Luka Milivojevic makes amends for his miss against Everton by sending Bernd Leno the wrong way.

PENALTY TO CRYSTAL PALACE

44: What on earth is Shkodran Mustafi doing?! Arsenal fail to clear a Crystal Palace corner and Mustafi ploughs through Cheikhou Kouyate. Stonewall.

43: Roy Hodgson is waving his arms furiously to try and galvanise his players as the break approaches.

41: Penalty appeal! Wilfried Zaha and Shkodran Mustafi have a coming together inside the penalty area but Martin Atkinson says no. I’m just looking at the replay now… yes, it was a foul in my opinion but just outside the box.

38: It looks like Arsenal are just waiting for Crystal Palace’s energy levels to drop. They’ve not really found a way to trouble the Eagles since Hector Bellerin’s shot.

Oh, and Aaron Wan-Bissaka, 20, is doing on hell of a job on Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

35: Still to have a shot on target at Selhurst Park. I suppose there’s a reason Arsenal have scored 70 percent of their goals in the second half…

33: Arsenal win a free-kick around 35-yards from goal but they’ve wasted it by lofting it straight back to Wayne Hennessey. Not sure the aerial route is the best idea for Unai Emery’s side today.

30: Crystal Palace are enjoying a decent spell in Arsenal territory with Zaha and Ayew combining nicely. The Gunners have had several counter opportunities but have lacked that final killer pbad.

27: Round 2 ding ding! Cheikhou Kouyate and Granit Xhaka have themselves a good old fashioned chest-to-chest argument after a 50/50 should barge. Storm in a teacup.

24: Greedy, Hector Bellerin receives the ball from Mesut Ozil around 10 yards from goal. He’s got the unmarked Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to his left but shoots through a crowd of bodies and wins the corner, which is easily cleared.

21: Chelsea have taken the lead against Burnley, folks. Alvaro Morata got the opener after 22 minutes.

Back here at Selhurst Park, Alexandre Lacazette has just squandered an excellent opportunity after the ball book to him just inside the box, but he’s shanked it horribly wide.

Crystal Palace vs Arsenal: Express Sport brings you LIVE Premier League updates

18: Jordan Ayew could easily have been sent off. He’s already on a booking but decides to launch into a tackle on Lucas Torreira. Clumsy, late but not cynical. Referee Martin Atkinson made the right call.

15: Arsenal are clinging on by their fingernails! Wilfried Zaha cuts inside from the left and fires a low effort against the outside of the post.

Seconds later, Zaha finds Townsend waiting inside the six-yard box but he’s inexplicably dragged the shot wide.

12: Neither side have properly settled into this one. Crystal Palace are making it difficult for the visitors to find any rhythm with Lacazette and Aubameyang being swamped.

9: Zaha decides to try his luck on the left against Bellerin. He skips beyond the Spanish international before Shkodran Mustafi blocks for a corner, which is headed wide.

Booked! Jordan Ayew goes in the book early when cynically chopping down the breaking Lacazette. Silly.

7: Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang could find it quite tricky down the left flank with only Granit Xhaka in support. He’s being marked by Wan-Bissaka and McArthur each time he touches the ball.

4: Luka Milivojevic, who clearly wants to make amends for his penalty miss last weekend, collects the ball in midfield and looks to play Wilfried Zaha through. The offside flag stayed down but Bernd Leno anticipated it and gathers.

2: There was a round of applause in support of all those connected with Leicester after last night’s events. Premier League were in discussions with both clubs about a minute’s silence or something more formal but all parties decided against it with investigations ongoing at the King Power.

CRYSTAL PALACE 0-0 ARSENAL

1: And we’re underway! I know Crystal Palace haven’t scored at Selhurst Park this season – but I can’t ignore Zaha vs Xhaka. My prediction is for both teams to score and Arsenal win.

Oh I also have Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in my fantasy football team. So…

Respect

13:28: The players have just emerged from the tunnel to a rambunctious (word of the day calendar) atmosphere inside Selhurst Park. What else would you expect from these Eagles fans?

Both sides are wearing black armbands.

Twitter round-up

Cryroi: Max Meyer needs to be in the starting XI to inject more creativity in the final third. Obviously Roy will bring him on when we’re 2-0 down!

Bronco: Arsenal need to start the game with more urgency please. I don’t like the usual first half narrative of not showing up enough.

John: Looking forward to watching this Arsenal team a bit closer. They are slipping under the radar slightly so far, picking up results.

Juan Mata?!

13:20: Oh, I have some transfer news for y’all…

Take it with a pinch of salt, but apparently Arsenal could stage a shock transfer swoop for Manchester United midfielder Juan Mata.

Mata, 30, starred for Valencia under current Arsenal boss Unai Emery from 2008 and 2011.

Emery remains a big fan and he is keen to link back up with Mata if he becomes available on a free transfer, according to the Star on Sunday.

Thoughts Arsenal fans, would you want him?

‘Intense’

13:15: Unai Emery has been speaking with Sky Sports ahead of today’s clash, and has called for intensity from his side – who have scored 70 percent of their goals in the second half this campaign.

“For us today it is very important to keep improving. We are okay but we need to get better each match,” Emery said. “For every team it is difficult to come here but we can be competitive for 90 minutes and our quality will show. We want to be intense for 90 minutes.

On Bernd Leno:  “I am very happy with both keepers. It is a very high level of performances. It is good to continue with Leno because he is working well and playing at a high performance. Cech has opportunities to play but for today he is on the bench.”

On Granit Xhaka at LB:  “In the moment it is only because of the injuries to Nacho Monreal and Sead Kolasinac. I think he was doing the last few matches in this position. His commitment is very, very big. His position after that is in the midfield.”

On Mesut Ozil as captain: “The captain role is very clear for us. We want his commitment and example in midfield. In every day and in the 90 minutes today we want his quality. He is a leader.”

Zaha vs Xhaka…

13:10: Plenty of Arsenal fans are worried about this match up. The natural flair, pace and trickery of Wilfried Zaha against… Granit Xhaka.

The Swiss international played there against Sporting Lisbon on Thursday. It was a pretty tough badignment but he didn’t do too badly.

Twitter round-up

Josh: Wilfried Zaha will be licking his lips after seeing that Arsenal defence. He’s going to make a mockery of Granit Xhaka at left-back.

George: Rough for Sokratis to lose out to Mustafi today. Also pretty worried about Xhaka at LB again. Surely an Under-21 whose preferred position is LB would be a preferable short term solution?

Ed: Looking for another beast of performance from Auba and Laca… Mesut will string Beautiful pbades… And Torreira will martial the midfield. We just need to ensure Leno keeps another clean sheet.

High praise indeed

13:00: Roy Hodgson believes Unai Emery is proving such a suitable successor to Arsene Wenger as Arsenal manager because he has revived so many of the qualities that made the Frenchman’s teams great.

“Emery has brought back that energy and quality of play that Arsene also had for many years. Certainly when he took the league by storm playing that type of football,” Hodgson said.

“People used to talk about Arsenal walking the ball into the net, because they were so good around the box; they didn’t shoot on sight, they played around you two more times before setting someone up to walk into the goal.

“To do that you need the quality of players that have been accumulated over the years, and a lot of players that are doing very well are players Arsene actually brought in, and Emery’s inherited them and is getting the best out of them.

“Eleven straight wins is an incredible record; we’ve got to try and do our level best that they don’t make it 12, because we need the points. He has started extremely well. I know a lot about him and his career, because I’ve followed his work, in particular at Sevilla and Paris St Germain, and I know what a good coach he is, and he’s proving that.”

Drought…

12:55: Dry as the Sahara down at Selhurst Park this season. No, I’m not talking about the weather – I’m talking about their goal drought.

Crystal Palace could become the seventh team in Football League history to both fail to win and score in any of their first five home league games to a season after Huddersfield (2018-19), Everton (1998-99), Halifax Town (1990-91), Mansfield Town (1971-72), West Brom (1921-22) and Norwich City (1920-21).

Gunning for another win

12:50: Not very original headline, but It’s Sunday and the extra hour in bed wasn’t enough…

After Unai Emery’s tenure started with consecutive defeats, Arsenal have embarked on a remarkable run of 11 successive wins in all competitions.

They should be confident of continuing their impressive form when they make the short trip to Selhurst Park this afternoon to take on Crystal Palace. The out-of-form Eagles are the second-lowest scorers in the division with just five goals and have picked up a solitary point from their last four fixtures.

Team news – Arsenal

12:45: Unai Emery makes SIX changes from the side who beat Sporting Lisbon in the Europa League.

Danny Welbeck, who’s scored the winner on Thursday, drops out with Alexandre Lacazette returning to the starting XI.

Lucas Torreira and Mesut Ozil also return with Aaron Ramsey and Henrikh Mkhitaryan dropping to the bench.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang retains his place, which is blinding news for my fantasy football team.

Team news – Crystal Palace

12:40: Nice and simple for Crystal Palace. Roy Hodgson has made one change from the side who were beaten 2-0 away to Everton last Sunday.

Jordan Ayew replaces Jeffrey Schlupp.

Tom: Tough away game today, I hope the boys are in top gear yet again today.

Eagles: My expectations are below bottom before today. Therefore I can’t be disappointed. Right?!

Otto: Who would you prefer to see in goal today? As for me I’d want Leno cos their is calmness when playing out from the back.

Selhurst Park…

12:25: Crystal Palace host Unai Emery’s in-form Arsenal, who are pursuing a 12th successive victory, and are at the start of a difficult run of fixtures in which Chelsea, Tottenham and Manchester United follow.

Afternoon

12:20: Good afternoon everyone and welcome to our LIVE coverage from Selhurst Park.

It feels wrong to be focusing on football after yesterday’s tragic events.

First, former England manager Glenn Hoddle was taken to hospital after falling seriously ill. Then an elderly Brighton supporter died after being taken ill ahead of the game against Wolves.

And then the helicopter of Leicester owner Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha crashed outside the King Power Stadium following Saturday’s Premier League game against West Ham.

But we have three Premier League games coming up this afternoon, so let’s find out the team news and line-ups.

CRYSTAL PALACE vs ARSENAL

Crystal Palace have Max Meyer and Alexander Sorloth available after they both missed last week’s 2-0 defeat at Everton with viral infections. Christian Benteke remains Palace’s only significant absentee, as he continues his recovery from knee surgery.

Arsenal will be hoping to have either Nacho Monreal or Sead Kolasinac back in the squad. Both left-backs missed the Europa League win at Sporting Lisbon with hamstring problems. Petr Cech will be pushing for a recall in goal having overcome his own hamstring complaint, with Ainsley Maitland-Niles (leg) and Laurent Koscielny (Achilles) also back in training but unlikely to be up to speed.

Last season: Arsenal 4 Crystal Palace 1 Crystal Palace 2 Arsenal 3

Last five league matches: Crystal Palace W D L L L; Arsenal W W W W W

Top scorers: Wilfried Zaha (Crystal Palace) 3; Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (Arsenal) 8
