RM Sotheby’s has just blown away all the records for a 911 Porsche sold at auction with this brand new 993 Turbo S “Project Gold” fetching $4,887,837!
Built to celebrate 70 years of the Porsche marque and 20 years of the clbadic 993 model, Project Gold is a one-of-one hand-built hot rod constructed by Porsche Clbadic and Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur using a brand new 993 body.
Renowned as the most desirable 911 generation of the modern era, the last 993-series cars rolled off the production line 20 years ago and were revered as the last 911s to feature an air-cooled engine. Project Gold features over 52,000 genuine parts, including the 450hp twin-turbo 3.6-litre flat-six engine featuring the WLS II power kit.
RM Sotheby’s confirmed the proceeds from the sale went directly to the Ferry Porsche Foundation, a charity focussed on education, social issues, and youth development.
