How Saturday Night Live tackled the arrest of Alec Baldwin and the dissolution of Pete Davidson

Enter Alec BaldwinThe arrest on Friday for allegedly hitting a man on a street in New York City and the Pete Davidson / Ariana Grande saga, there was a lot of drama on the sidelines of this week's episode Saturday Night Live. But since Baldwin's Trump stays out of the way, and Davidson may learn that the jokes about his breakup had an expiration date, references to both dramas had to be integrated – effectively!

In the first place, Baldwin, at the very end of the open cold in which Kate McKinnon resumed its role of Laura Ingraham take on the mid-term elections. McKinnon-as-Ingraham asked viewers to stay tuned for "dishonored actor Alec Baldwin, seen here mugging a young scout boy", accompanied by a snapshot from Baldwin with Adam Sandler in the 1994 "Canteen Boy" sketch. It's a funny dig at a long-time friend of the series and a character perfectly suited for a Fox News host.

Baldwin could have been a troublesome absence in the opening monologue sketch, in which the host Jonah Hill was welcomed into the host club of the five timekeepers, but the concept took care of it: Hill was welcomed by Tina Fey, Candice Bergen, and Drew Barrymore, a.k.a. three of the four women members of the club. (Scarlett Johansson, which hosted for the fifth time last year, was the only one missing. "Men are not allowed to enter because it turns out that they are all hot perverts," explained Fey by way of explanation, though shots on club members were rather clear. (Justin Timberlake was called for the Janet Jackson Super Bowl thing, Steve Martin for a non-consensual banjo game; surely to the relief of all, Louis C.K. only hosted four times.)

So where was Davidson's place? Request another drink – provided by Kenan Thompson, who said, "This is my show, I leave you sometimes "- Bergen asked" another Pete Davidson. "published a single surprise that refers directly to Davidson, it worked pretty well.
