This post contains spoilers for The dead who walk Season 9, episode 5, "What comes next."
Sundays Walking Dead was fatal – not just for Rick Grimes, whose disappointing and fictional death has come up with a series of derivative films for Andrew Lincoln, but also for Maggie Rhee, who apparently said her last goodbye to the series. according to The Hollywood Reporter, Sunday night, it was not only the last episode of Lincoln on the flagship series, Lauren Cohan as well – at least for the moment.
Now, T.H.R. reports that Cohan has no other episodes planned for the series, although his fate remains uncertain. Both runners Angela Kang and president of CMA programming David Madden confirmed the news to T.H.R.Although both have indicated that they would like to see more of Maggie Rhee in the future. "We talked to Lauren and hope we can tell more stories for her," said Kang. T.H.R. "We certainly have things in our sleeve that we would like to do. This is largely a conversation on the agenda. I hope that everything will be fine, because I think we would like to continue the story of Maggie, of course. It seems fair to guess that future episodes of Maggie are likely to happen in large part. about the fate of the ABC pilot of Cohan, Whiskey Cavalier.
The official release of the series, if possible temporary, of Cohan was announced this spring. The actress was first prepared for the pilot season when her contract negotiations with AMC got bogged down. (Cohan had asked for a major salary increase – although it was clearly stated that she was not seeking parity with the male men, Lincoln and Norman Reedus.)
This season was marked by one last destiny for Maggie: joining the surviving female traveler Georgie and her group on the road to share knowledge and plans of windmill. As explained in a previous episode, Georgie likes Maggie and tried to recruit her. And as suddenly as Maggie's departure may have imagined, Sunday night, at least, her closure eventually confronted Negan. Maggie's hatred for Negan has been unleashed ever since she discovered that the man who murdered her husband right in front of her would not die, but instead was serving a life sentence in the new Alexandria prison. On Sunday, Maggie went to town to murder Negan, but once in prison, she realized that her life sentence was more painful than death could be. The scene reflected a similar in the Walking Dead comics even if they occur later in the source timeline than in the current series. Anyway, it seems that Maggie has ended her run The dead who walk, at least for the moment, with some closure.
As for Maggie and Cohan's future commitment to the Walking Dead universe? As Madden has said T.H.R. "Angela and Lauren are talking. They are really friendly. And we would like to see her come back. A lot of that happens [to] has to do with Whiskey Cavalier [which premieres midseason on ABC] and what becomes then of its availability, which we obviously do not control. But creatively, we would like to see her come back to a certain extent. Maybe she, like Lincoln, can appear in a movie Walking Dead movie or two. For the moment, however, it seems that the time has come to say goodbye.
