WARRIORS prop James Gavet is believed to have requested a release from the club and is headed to Newcastle.
The 29-year-old posted a cryptic video on Instagram suggesting he was leaving the Warriors with one year remaining on his contract.
It’s believed the Knights are in talks with the Samoan forward, but the release and the deal are yet to be finalised.

In an Instagram post filmed in front of Mt Smart Stadium, Gavet wrote: “Thanks for the ride fam OUTTA-HERE!!!”
Gavet has played 42 games for the Warriors since 2016, but has moved clubs frequently — starting at the Bulldogs in 2012, to the Wests Tigers from 2013-2014 and the Broncos in 2015 before landing at the Warriors.
The Knights, who are in the market to beef-up their front row stocks, are believed to be keen on adding Gavet to their roster.
Last week the Knights named 24 players in their squad for 2019, and are tipped to add Kangaroos prop David Klemmer and Gavet to the list.
