Belle Gibson, a cancer crook, has been warned that she is facing jail for failing to pay a $ 410,000 fine for cheating Australians.
The fake welfare guru was sanctioned by the Federal Court last September for five violations of the Australian Consumer Code, after falsely claiming to have brain cancer and being cured of natural cures.
She also lied to supporters about donating money from her Whole Pantry app and selling books to various charities, including a boy with inoperable brain cancer.
Judge Debra Mortimer of the Federal Court warned Gibson Tuesday that the non-payment of the fine would make him liable to imprisonment, seizure of his property or any other penalty.
"You will be liable to imprisonment, attachment of property or any other punishment," says the criminal opinion.
Anyone who is aware of the order and who badists or authorizes Ms. Gibson to rape her may be punished in the same manner, the notification states.
The director of Consumer Affairs Victoria, who brought the case, along with Mrs. Gibson and her company Inkerman Road Nominees, have until December 11 to submit their comments.
The action against Gibson was initiated in July after she learned she had not paid the $ 410,000 fine.
The Wellness Pantry app was incredibly popular. It has been downloaded more than 300,000 times and each download cost $ 3.79.
In an interview with Channel Nine, 60 minutes program – an interview that allegedly landed Gibson $ 75,000 – the disgraced blogger said that she was the victim.
"I have not exchanged my story or the lives of others," she said. "I'm not trying to shoot myself out of business."
