A family who will spend the rest of his life without his only son and brother due to a tragic quad accident urged others to hold their children firmly in their arms because life is precious and fragile.
Alexander Baxter was 17 years old when he died in a quad accident. He did not wear a helmet.
"Just be careful because your parents and your mothers love you, just like your sisters and your brothers and your cousins, life is precious and fragile and your need to take care of yourself," said his mother Liesl Baxter .
Alexander was killed in a quad accident on the family farm of our Great Southern two days ago, when he was only 17 years old.
Found lifeless by his father who says his son was not wearing a helmet.
"His talent and laughter will be missed terribly," said Robert Baxter.
For them, Alex was known as Zoom – he was quick on the field and wanted to be an electrician.
Now his family is preparing his funeral.
According to the St. John Ambulance, the Christmas period is the worst of the accidents of last year, 30 people were injured during the holiday season. Most were 17 years old or younger.
The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission is currently reviewing the safety of quads.
