With a record 1326 shows and events – including the hot air balloon – the release of next year's Adelaide Fringe full program has reached new heights.
Up 91 performances from last year, the strongest growth was in circus and interactive events, with numbers in both categories up 44%, said Fringe Director Heather Croall.
The theater has also benefited from a 22% increase, with 156 performances in the 2019 program.
"Each year, we see more and more artists supporting our fabulous festival and presenting a range of increasingly diverse shows … including wonderfully unique experiences, such as a ballooning musical performance and a play theater in a caravan park, "Mrs. Croall told me.
Floating Melodies, which features musicians on a flight operated by Barossa Balloon Adventures to Nuriootpa, will take off on February 14 – a day before the official debut of Fringe, but is perfect for a romantic Valentine's Day.
At $ 350 per person, Floating MelodiesHot air ballooning is also the program's most expensive ticket – and probably the story of Fringe – although it is largely the usual $ 300 cost of the trip itself.
The next most expensive show is Faulty Towers – The Dining Experience, which includes a three course dinner for $ 104.
For those whose budgets do not quite reach the stratosphere, Floating Melodies will also be featured on the water, with two shows aboard the MV Dolphin Explorer in Port Adelaide on February 14 and March 3, and tickets priced from just $ 40 to $ 46.
Adelaide Fringe runs from February 15th to March 17th.
