More than 140,000 Australians may never have the misfortune to forget their driver's license again because they can now carry it on their smartphone.
That's because a select group of residents of Sydney's Eastern Beaches can now participate in the NSW Digital Driver License (DDL) test, using available technology available through the NSW Service app. .
Accepting participants can use their mobile-enabled DDL as proof of identity and age to enter pubs and clubs, as well as for roadside police checks in the trial area.

Eligible drivers of postal codes 2022, 2024, 2026, 2031 and 2034 will be able to register and use their DDL.
