Apple revealed the winners of its "Shot on iPhone" challenge, where gadget fans were busy making amazing smartphone shots.

The tech giant shared the top 10 photos uploaded during the challenge – and they're all amazing.

Last month, Apple offered to pay iPhone owners for taking great pictures and posting them on Instagram.

The winners get their favorite clichés on billboards and in Apple Stores around the world, with some cash on hand to soften the deal.

The contest ran from January 22 to February 8 and anyone who shared their photos on Instagram or Twitter with the hashtag #ShotOniPhone was registered.

You can also enter by submitting your photo to [email protected].

Submissions were reviewed by a group of expert judges experienced in photography.

Apple's chief marketing officer (and amateur photographer), Phil Schiller, was part of the panel, as was Pete Souza, the official White House photographer for President Obama.

Luísa Dörr, a photographer based in Brazil who photographed TIMEFirsts with an iPhone exclusively.

There were not many criterion criteria for photos, except they had to be "exceptional".

Apple has not confirmed exactly the value of the reward, but The sun understands that this will be similar to previous license fees paid to Shot on iPhone photographers.

Twitter user Pete Souza, a former White House photographer, said, "I received $ 1,000 a few years ago when my photo was selected."

however, The sun is unable to verify if this figure is correct.
