Maya's mother, Ann Tisdale, said that despite her daughter's diagnosis, Maya remained very independent and wanted to do everything. his older brothers do. Ann continued that even though Maya needed the help of a walker since the age of 1 year, she still wanted to walk independently.

A Miracle Walker

In May of this year, the Maya Missouri family where Maya had undergone surgery known as Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy.

Maya's family stated that the procedure would permanently reduce Maya's spasticity and give Maya a life without much pain. After the Maya procedure, the doctor informed Maya's parents that she would be able to walk a day, but not without a daily physical therapy.

Seven weeks after her operation, Maya took a few steps that left her parents stunned. Ann stated that she and her husband were waiting for Maya to take her measurements at least six months to one year after her operation. Ann continued that Maya still has cerebral palsy. However, she will continue her physical therapy and practice her ability to walk.

Ann also said that Maya taking her first steps so early is great for her and the rest of her family.
