The release date of Super Smash Bros. December 7th's Ultimate means we're about to see our Super Smash dreams come true. With a list of 74 fighters, an unmatched number of songs on the soundtrack and hundreds of minds, it's a love letter for the game as much as a competitive fighting game.

If you want to immerse yourself in the world of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, you still have time to prepare. Here's a list of everything you need to make sure you play Super Smash Bros. Ultimate at your peak of December 7th.

Preorder GameCube Super Smash Bros. Official Controller Ultimate

The Nintendo GameCube controller support is officially back for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. You do not need to buy a new controller if you still have your GameCube or Wii U GameCube controllers in working order. But this is the official controller of Smash Ultimate, you may want to grab one anyway.

All GameCube controllers in the world will not help you succeed in Smash if you can not use them with your Nintendo switch. Fortunately, Nintendo recognized it very early and reissued the official Nintendo Switch GameCube controller adapter. If you have the Wii U adapter, it works with Nintendo Switch, but if you missed the underrated console, it's the Wii U GameCube adapter that has a new life. If you have a Wavebird GameCube, you can hook up the receiver and it will work exactly as it is supposed to work.

There is nothing wrong with being a purist who only wants to play Smash using GameCube controllers. But this limited edition controller Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Pro may make you think about how you play. May be. Probably not. But no matter how you decide to play, it's a really cool controller and after Smash is released, it will probably not be easy to get. So, if you want one, I recommend that you enter it as soon as possible.

Pre-order Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

If you have not pre-ordered Super Smash Bros. yet. Ultimate, you can do it and, hopefully, get it on the day of the release. Amazon offers a $ 10 credit to Premium members if you pre-order Best Buy also offers a $ 10 credit, but it will use a Super Smash Bros collector coin. to try to secure your money in pre-order. Walmart offers free subscription-free shipping and GameStop offers a free double-sided poster that you can only get by pre-ordering in-store or online.

Oh, and if you save your copy of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate before January 31, 2019, you will get Piranha Plant free.

Super Smash Bros. Package Digital and Super Smash Fighters Pbad

You can preorder the game and secure future DLC fighters at one go with the Smash Fighters Pbad Bundle. You get the game and the special fighters pbad the Mii fighter costume, in addition to the scenes and fighters of the DLC.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, a special edition Steelbook, is really great. You get the game, the steel case and the limited edition Pro Controller in one package. That's the good news. The bad news is that it's almost always complete. Sometimes it comes back in the stock, so I've posted links here in the hope that you'll be lucky and that I'll check when they will be live.
