The Aston Martin Cygnet seems light-years away from the company that just unveiled the DBS Superleggera, but it's back at the 2018 Goodwood Festival of Speed. Only it has been modified a bit – and now has the 430 horsepower V8 engine of the previous generation Vantage S.

Aston calls it the "Ultimate City Car". The unique V8-Cygnet was created by the "Q" branch of the brand for a customer commission. Aston Martin says the department & # 39; Q & # 39; exists to allow customers to fully express – although what the owner of this car wants to transmit is out of reach.

Cygnet seems relatively intact from the front – apart from a lattice grille, and these new wheel arches we'll see later – but it hides a very different powertrain under its hood. All other modifications of the car were added to cope with the 430 hp Cygnet. The Cygnet V8 is equipped with a safety cage, a new front bulkhead and a transmission tunnel, while the chbadis and suspension system have also been removed from the donor car. the Vantage S. A large steel fuel tank is now stored in the Cygnet's trunk, while a fire extinguisher ready for racing the system and the race harnesses finally make it develop the way.
There is not much of an inside to talk about; most of the car was ripped off to drill at 1375 kg, and what was added was carbon fiber. The flared wheel arches represent the most obvious increase in the Cygnet V8, added in carbon fiber to accommodate the wider track of the car. The wheels of these arches have also taken the scale, now measuring 19 inches in diameter from Standard 16.
