The Melbourne Storm has announced the signing of its representative, the fifth representative Cameron Munster, until the end of the 2023 season.
Munster extend his stay to the storm for five more years is a huge blow to the club.
Queenslander, 24, has agreed to sign agreements with club officials, ending the prospect of the five-eighths being on the market and other clubs to take advantage.
Munster was not under contract in 2019 and was in the crosshairs of several rival NRL teams.
The rebranding of the talented games maker will help the Storm make the transition to the post-Billy Slater era, a year after Cooper Cronk's move to the Roosters.
Now, Storm's followers will wait until skipper Cameron Smith completes the good news for 2019 and announces that he will stay for at least another season. Club officials hope to seal this deal soon.
Storm coach Craig Bellamy told NRL.com that he had no problem with the veteran of the 384 NRL games who wanted to play for another two years.
"I do not see that as a problem."
The mentor who twice won the prime minister also said Smith would not play in another club.
"He'll be here next year, it's just a matter of settling a few things," said Bellamy.
