A part of David BeckhamInstagram subscribers took offense at an innocent photo of the former professional football star kissing her youngest child on the lips.
On November 26, Beckham shared a picture of himself kissing his seven-year-old daughter Harper while they were going skating together. He also shares the sons of Brooklyn, 19, Romeo, 16, and Cruz, 13, with his wife. Victoria Beckham.
"Christmas is coming, let's go skate," said the 43-year-old.
In the comments section, some followers criticized Beckham, calling it inappropriate that a father kiss his daughter on the lips. However, many of them came to Beckham's defense, including the professional football star Tom Brady, 41.
"Dad and his daughter, so sweet!" commented Brady, who started the parent-child debate in January after an innocent voido showed him kissing his 11 year old son on the lips.
Other supporters congratulated Beckham for showing affection to his child.
"Who cares what everyone says … you love your family and few children have a loving home.You are a great father and a model. [you’re] to do, "wrote one person.
"My son is 8 years old and I always kiss him on the lips and I will continue to do it as long as I can!" writes another.
"I can not believe that there is something negative to say about a dad who kisses his little girl!" another said.
As of Wednesday, November 27, AEST, the photo had more than 1.8 million likes on Instagram.
