A pbadenger on board a Delta aircraft was taken aback after a pilot sent him a message on Grindr during their flight.
JP Thorn, a 27-year-old student, said The New York Post The strange interaction occurred while he was flying from St. Paul (Minnesota) to Chicago in August.
When his flight landed, his cell service came back and he noticed a new notification on the application of gay dating.
"I see you are on my flight," reads the message. "Enjoy the ride in Chicago."
"My reaction was that I knew I had to leave this plane as quickly as possible," said Thorn, a communications student at Hamline University, The post office.
"I've had strange experiences with nearby objects on Grindr."

Mr. Thorn removed his app when he landed in Nashville and has since lost contact with the airman.
He said that if he did not have to catch his connecting flight, he would have met the captain.

"I meet Grindr people all the time," Thorn said. "I think I would have totally met him for a coffee."
On Sunday, Mr. Thorn uploaded a screenshot of their conversation on Twitter, which quickly became a social media sensation and now has over 218,000 "likes".
"Many people have said that I should meet pilots because they are making a lot of money," he said. "It was pretty funny."
And Mr. Thorn said that he would fly again with Delta.
"It's the only airline I tend to use," he said. "I do not think they're getting into too much controversy."
Delta did not immediately return a request for comment.
