Dutton didn’t watch Turnbull interview

Peter Dutton has refused to buy into scathing criticism made public by Malcolm Turnbull during his first interview since being ousted as prime minister.

Mr Turnbull named the home affairs minister as the key instigator in the plot that toppled him from the top job during a highly anticipated TV interview with the ABC on Thursday.

“I didn’t see the interview. I saw the reporting of it. I had plenty of my colleagues text in relation to it and what not,” Mr Dutton told reporters on Sunday.

“I don’t have any comment to make in relation to it, I made comments at the time.

“I’m more interested not in talking about myself but talking about how we can win the next election.

“I want to make sure that Scott Morrison is the prime minister after the election because Bill Shorten would be a disaster for this country.”
