Frozen vegetables recalled more deadly fears of listeriosis

Other frozen vegetables were recalled for fear of deadly contamination, after a larger national recall last month on possible links with listeria.

Listeria (or Listeria monocytongenes) is a common bacterium in the environment.Also can be found in raw foods.While eating food containing listeriosis will not make most people sick, in some people it can cause listeriosis.

Listeriosis mostly affects pregnant women and their unborn babies, the elderly and immunocompromised people. Symptoms include fever, muscle aches, and sometimes nausea and diarrhea. Although rare, listeriosis can lead to stillbirths during pregnancy.
