Hyundai launched its first premium luxury car, the Genesis at the end of 2014 – a car offering tremendous value and a car that greatly raised the perception of the Korean brand. Many first sales had to rent car companies for the Hyundai Genesis offered a degree of clbad at a much more affordable price.
Interestingly, many rental car companies have replaced the Hyundai badge on the boot with the Winged Genesis badge for added prestige. Genesis will now become Hyundai 's full – fledged luxury brand later this year in a Sydney – based factory dealership coinciding with the launch of an updated and renamed Genesis G80 sedan and from a new G70 model of medium size. These sedans will be joined by two Genesis SUVs in the coming years. The current Hyundai Genesis may not offer the badge seal of established German luxury sedans but several owners I know are reporting exceptional service – one can only imagine then that a Genesis standalone brand will start taking sales established competition.
