Iconic WACA Ground Dashboard Reproduced on Big Screen at Optus Stadium

It's the history of cricket history that stands out in WA's all-new brilliant stadium – but it's been modernized.

The famous WACA Ground scoreboard has presided over just about every Sheffield Shield match in this state since its erection in 1954.

So with the Warriors competing today for their first Shield clash at Optus Stadium, the scorecard followed – albeit in digital form.

The two giant Optus Stadium reading screens will display the scores in a format almost identical to that of the old WACA dashboard, with nameplates.

There are even "holes" in the middle showing badistants at the dashboard where they would have been sitting inside the old dashboard, which was originally a gift from the North West Murchison Cricket Association.

In an elegant and new stadium, it's a nice nod to the past that cricket fans will appreciate for sure.

The Warriors, along with Shaun and Mitch Marsh and Ashton Agar, will face a New South Wales team led by Nathan Lyon over the next four days.
