Impossible Director of Fallout explains why Jeremy Renner is not in the sequel

Although Tom Cruise and Ving Rhames are the only two actors to appear in every film Mission: Impossible the film series has brought home familiar faces more often in recent years. Explaining why Renner does not appear in Fallout director Christopher McQuarrie attributed the absence of the actor to bad timing. As McQuarrie said:

William Brandt and Ethan Hunt did not experience the best start when they met in Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol but during this film and Rogue Nation William's turned out to be one of Ethan's most valuable allies, so of course some fans might have thought that he would be back for the sixth film Mission: Impossible . Alas, as Christopher McQuarrie told Digital Spy, not having a completed script made things difficult at first. Then there are Renner's features like Clint Barton, a.k.a. Hawkeye, in the film universe of Marvel. Avengers: The Infinite War and Avengers 4 have turned back to back throughout 2017, and though ( SPOILER alert!) Hawkeye did not appear in War in the Infinite he should return in Avengers 4 next year. In the end, McQuarrie and the Fallout team would never have been able to include Renner in the proceedings. But hey, maybe he'll be back for Mission: Impossible 7 !

Even with William Brandt sitting on Mission: Impossible – Fallout this movie will be a hell meeting. With the characters mentioned above, Fallout will see the return of Sean Harris under the name of Solomon Lane, the main villain of Rogue Nation as well as Michelle Monaghan under the name of Julia Meade, wife of Ethan Hunt. who went to hide after Mission: Impossible III . As for the new faces, Fallout will present Henry Cavill as August Walker, Angela Bbadett as Erica Sloane and Vanessa Kirby as White Widow.
