Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle Arrive at Prince Charles’s 70th Birthday in Glam Looks

Update: With the party set to begin, photos have emerged of Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle in their cars, making their arrivals at the party. Sadly, this is all we are going to see of their looks, since the party is considered a private event, and will have limited access for the press. Meghan is wearing some extremely blingy earrings, her hair pulled back in an updo. Kate—also wearing some dazzling jewelry—looks to be wearing some sort of frilly pink dress. That we only are going to get to see a few square inches of this dress is no doubt going to frustrate the Kate obsessives out there for a very long time.

The original story continues below.

It’s getting a little tough to remember when we weren’t celebrating Prince Charles’s 70th birthday, isn’t it? The milestone for the Prince of Wales has been marked by a sit-down interview with Vanity Fair, a documentary, a book, a pair of new portraits of Charles and his family—and the festivities will continue tonight, on the actual day of his birth, with a glitzy bash at Buckingham Palace.

Not much has been revealed about the party, other than that it will be attended by the Queen and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, as well as a host of other European royals, per the Daily Mail: Crown Princess Mary and Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark, a number of Norwegian royals, including King Harald and Queen Sonja, the Grand Duke and Grand Duchess of Luxembourg, and King Philippe and Queen Mathilde of Belgium. (The Swedish royals will reportedly not be attending due to a prior commitment; the Spanish and Dutch royals are also unlikely to be attending, the outlet says.)

Invitations were sent out for the bash in September by the Queen, who will reportedly be giving a short speech tonight. We are hoping Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis are also preparing some sort of one-act play as part of the performance portion of the night.

Earlier in the day, Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, hosted a tea party for 70 other people who, like Charles, were also born in 1948 and are turning 70 this year, all of whom have done extensive charity and volunteer work.
