Lena Dunham addressed rumors of romance about his ex-boyfriend Jack Antonoff and singer-songwriter Lorde.
In an interview with The cupDunham, 32, has confirmed that he has privately discussed the rumors with Antonoff, 33, but has not spoken to Lorde – whose real name is Ella Yelich-O'Connor – since the breakup.
First of all, let's recap.
Dunham and Antonoff spent five and a half years before calling to resign in January 2018.
During this period, Antonoff worked closely with Lorde and produced the last album of this 22-year-old man, Melodrama.
After the split between Dunham and Antonoff, rumors circulated that the two musicians were going out together. Antonoff denied this in a tweet on Jan. 17.
"Normally, I would never talk about rumors, but I would not want the most important friendships and working relationships of my life to be reduced to normative, heterobadual gossip," he wrote. "These relationships are deeply important and sacred, but I do not see anyone, Lol."
The speculation was complemented by a 29-page detailed viral PowerPoint presentation in which some claimed that Antonoff was cheating Dunham with Lorde before the split.
Addressing these claims, Dunham told The Cut: "In fact, I totally respect this girl because she did a very good job and she was very funny."
But eventually, Dunham said the whole saga "was so embarrbading".
"It was horrible because I felt weird … I do not think anything is going on between them," she added. "I can never know someone else 's life, I have never talked to Ella about it, we have not talked since Jack and I broke up. It was awful, and I could not do anything about it except the confidence that what he was saying was for me was true. "
Antonoff is supposed to be dating model Carlotta Kohl, while Dunham revealed that she was spending time with an artist that she had met through common friends.
