After 12 draws, the title contenders were inseparable. But after a series of tiebreakers, we finally have a winner in the world championships of chess.

Norway's Magnus Carlsen won the world chess title for the fourth time after defeating his American rivals Fabiano Caruana in three halves, after two draws during this month.
This tactical impbade forced the duelists to draw, which allowed the Norwegian to win the winning match and obtain a check for 550,000 euros (855,601 dollars).

The failure of Caruana, 26, in the face of Carlsen means that the United States has not won the title of failures since the enigmatic and volatile Bobby Fischer beat the Russian Boris Spbadky at the height of the cold war in 1972.
"I have some regrets about the clbadic part but I do not think I can be really mad about it," said the American. "I was hoping to play my best failures today, but I have not even approached it.
"I felt a lot of pressure, but I do not think I added any pressure because I was the first American challenger for a long time.
"At the moment, I am mostly disappointed, but I hope to be able to come back on the game and learn a lot because it is also a great privilege to play Magnus and have a great learning experience."
Caruana will reap another 450,000 euros for his efforts at The College, a Victorian building located in Holborn, London.
Carlsen is the highest ranked player in the world for eight years.
This year was the first time that the Norwegian won the championship without losing a single match.
