the McLaren Speedtail is here, uh, somehow.
A few hours before its launch (one night for us here in Oz), we have already seen the hypercar hybrid spreading further and further on the Internet, thanks in particular to a Twitter user. @AutoBant and car collector Kris Singh (@lamborghiniks on Instagram).
The images here come from these two sources, which apparently would have had access before the official revelation of the car.
This cap on the front wheel would be for high speed racing and can be removed (some will be pleased to know), while the estimated power figures are always the same.
The closest practical evidence of our power is a quote from the CEO of the company reported by Top Gear UK.
A report of Top Gear quotes an McLaren owners event as the occasion when McLaren CEO Mike Flewitt decided to reveal to potential Speedtail customers that the car would have more than 735kW.
"This [twin-turbo V8] went from 426bhp in a GT4 to I can not tell you what else in a Speedtail. But it's more than 1000PS [735kW]"Said Flewitt.
As to whether it will come to Australia, ENGINE The local brand manager suggested it was likely.
"We are a global company and we make sure all our markets are served properly. So, on that basis … I would expect that we could see the car here, "MOTOR told McLaren Automotive's boss for the Asia-Pacific, in the past.
"The unique nature of [The Speedtail] It means that we are still working, but I hope to see this car here, "he said of the Speedtail and its central driving position.
"We are subject to a number of different regulatory environments in different markets, and Australia is very similar in that we respect and work with [ADRs].
"[ADRs are] Not particularly unique, it's just about going through this process. "
Stay tuned for the official revelation of McLaren's fastest road car.
