MikeYeung leaves TSM, is now a free agent

After playing on the TSM Academy team during the summer, MikeYeung is now a free agent of NA LCS.

MikeYeung posted a message on the team's official sub-account saying his farewells. "Hey guys, I'll probably be looking to join a new team for 2019. I'm sorry for letting you guys down this year. I have a lot of regrets and I hope you'll forgive me, but I'm still very happy with the great memories I've had at TSM.

What was wrong with TSM?

MikeYeung would join TSM for his 2018 year. The team would release several players, including Dennis "Svenskeren"Johnsen, Vincent"Biofrost"Wang and Yiliang"Double elevator"Peng, in their place, they would bring the All-Star Jesper duet"Zven"Svenningsen and Alfonso"Mithy"Rodriguez. In addition, MikeYeung would join the team in a jungle position. On paper, TSM once again looked like the top three teams. MikeYeung had an excellent division from the previous season with Pheonix1 and his potential was high.

Of course, we now know that this iteration of TSM would produce the worst results in the history of the organization. MikeYeung did not seem to fit well with the multiple stars of the training, and the entire team would also be struggling. TSM would finish third in the 2018 Spring Division, but would be dropped at Clutch Gaming in the first round of the playoffs. It was a very unexpected loss, but a loss that would force TSM to modify its list again. The team would replace MikeYeung in the jungle for rookie Jonathan "Grig"Armao for the summer division.

There were many rumors about why TSM would replace MikeYeung with Grig. MikeYeung explains in fact on his stream that "Grig fits really well in the team because it meets the standards of the ideal jungle". MikeYeung would also have explained that he wanted to play high tempo and make games. However, TSM wanted a jungler who would prefer to play with his powerful laners. The game styles would collide, so the results would speak for themselves.

The future of MikeYeung

Many fans still believe that MikeYeung has a lot of potential as a beginner. Unfortunately, TSM would be abusing its skills during its training. The 19-year-old jungler still has a lot to learn and has plenty of time to grow. If there was a team capable of using it properly, it could become a very good North American jungler. Sometimes his aggression can be costly for him and his team. However, his willingness to start the fight and remain proactive can be a good badet for a team that advances.

For example, an NA LCS team that could use a jungler is Clutch Gaming or Counter Logic Gaming. Both teams are looking for junglers in the offseason. In addition, both teams will seek to build from the base, after their dull year 2018. MikeYeung could be a great complement to their teams if they decided to get it back. Even OpTic Gaming could turn to MikeYeung because they allow both Tristan "PowerOfEvil"Schrage and Matthew"Akaadien"Higginbotham looking for a new team.
