EVERY now and then, Klay Thompson just has one of those nights.
It turns out this was one of those nights.
The Golden State Warriors star has broken teammate Steph Curry’s NBA record of 13 threes in a single game – and he did it halfway through the third quarter.

Klay put up 31 points, including nine threes, in his first 13 minutes on the court against the Chicago Bulls on Tuesday.
At halftime, Golden State led Chicago 92-50. Klay finished the half with 36 points, going 10 of 14 from three-point range in 19 minutes on the floor.
That tied the NBA record for threes in a half (Chandler Parsons, Jan. 24, 2014 v Memphis) and is the record for the first half.
Oh, and Steph Curry had 23 points at the half too.
But then Klay kept going, hitting his 14th three pointer with 4:53 to go in the third quarter. That put him at 52 points in 26 minutes.
He played one more minute in the third term before being rested for the remainder of the contest. Final stat line: 18-29 FG, 14-24 3PT, 2-2 FT, 52 points, five rebounds, 27 minutes.
Back in 2016, Klay reached 60 points against Indiana in 29 minutes on the floor.
At the end of the third quarter – which Chicago did win, at least – the Warriors led 125-89. They ran out 149-124 winners.
In other NBA games today, the Milwaukee Bucks have defeated Toronto in the first ever meeting of two teams who were 6-0 or better coming in.
