The plans to build the world's largest solar power station in the Australian desert and use it to help fuel Singapore have reached an important milestone after being awarded the status of a major Northern Territory government project.
NT Chief Minister Michael Gunner said on Saturday that his government would begin negotiations on a project development agreement with developer Sun Cable, with a view to relaunching the development of the 10 GW solar farm project and the project. 39; 20-30 GWh storage facility near Tennant Creek.
Gunner said the PDA would provide a framework for Sun Cable and the NT government to advance the $ 20-billion Australia-Singapore power link, in accordance with the required approval processes, starting with an environmental impact study and a territorial benefits plan.
