Nikon's Series 1 mirrorless cameras have never managed to create a buzz on the market led by mirrorless camera experts like Sony and Panasonic. Even though the company has tried to replicate the success of its DSLR cameras in the mirrorless device segment, the concert obviously did not work since the show is now disappearing.

According to a report by Nikon Rumors, the Japanese multinational has discontinued its range of Nikon 1 cameras and the company has also removed the company's official website in Japan. Although the series is no longer available at B & H, it is still available at Adorama.

Nikon refreshed its range of mirrorless cameras in 2015 with the launch of the Nikon 1 J5 mirrorless camera. Incidentally, the camera has never made a mark with the public thanks to its one inch sensor and its high prices. The availability of better camera options from competing brands at significantly lower prices has made things worse for the company.

Nikon in a statement to Engadget said that cameras, lenses and accessories for its Mirrorless Series 1 are out of production. perhaps still find J5 cameras and other models in some parts of the world.

The abandonment of its Series 1 mirrorless cameras was long overdue and the company is expected to launch a new mirrorless camera later this year. According to Nikon Rumors, the new mirrorless camera should have more than 400 autofocus points and a tilting LCD screen like the Nikon D850. It could also come with 24-70 mirrorless frame kit lens, 8K image resolution and a selection wheel on the top. The new camera could be called Z300 or Z500.
