Camilla looked elegant in a green kaftan-style top with white trousers as she attended the engagement at McCarthy Square, Banjul.
The 71-year-old completed the outfit with an eye-catching cherry print clutch bag. And the duchess carried a delicate white umbrella to shield herself from the sun.
Charles looked typically smart in a grey suit as he attended the royal engagement with his wife on the second day of their overseas tour.
Camilla and Charles appeared to be enjoying the welcome ceremony and the pair smiled as they sat next to each other.
The couple were joined by Gambia’s President Adama Barrow for the event, which was attended by crowds of well-wishers.
It comes after the couple received a warm welcome as they landed in The Gambia on Wednesday.
The trip is the first time the couple have officially visited the country, which re-joined the Commonwealth this year.
The pair will go on to visit Ghana on November 2 and Nigeria on November 6 for their royal tour.

2pm update: Camilla plants tree during school visit
Camilla has planted a tree during a visit to St Teresa’s School in Banjul.
The duchess was joined by the Gambia’s First Lady Fatou Bah-Barrow for the engagement.
Camilla was pictured holding a shovel as she stood in front of the newly-planted tree.
Charles’s wife also met students at the school who looked excited as they spoke to the duchess and presented her with gifts.
2.30pm update: Charles visits military school
Charles has visited the Armed Forces Training School in Banjul.
The Prince greeted soldiers and watched a military demonstration during the engagement.
A poster of Charles in his military uniform was attached to one wall to welcome the Prince.
