A shop owner in Melbourne who shot a graphic artist with an unregistered firearm before hiding his body in a trash bin for 17 years was sentenced to six years and six months in prison.

White pleaded guilty to manslaughter in April after confessing to shoot Mr. Christianos during a dispute over alcohol in 2001.
He was sentenced to three years and six months without parole.

This is only when the owner of the facility sold the property last year that the workers emptied it and discovered Mr. Christianos' body.
Mr. Christianos, who was 40 years old at the time of his badbadination, was a graphic designer who, according to the police, was a seasoned caricaturist.
At the trial, he learned that he had sold the portraits of football champion Gary Ablett and cricket legend Don Bradman in White's souvenir shop in Malvern East.

The court heard the men go to a Caulfield pub together on the night of Mr. Christianos' death and return to White's business to continue drinking.
They started arguing before Mr. Christianos pulled out a knife, heard the court, which led White to arm himself with a pistol.
He fired Mr. Christianos twice on the chest, killing him.
The court heard that Mr. Christianos was violent and was acting irrationally and that he had been banned from several local pubs.
The police made a public call for information at the time of her disappearance, and she thought it was suspicious.
White was arrested in Sunshine Coast following the discovery of the body in 2018.
