Rachel Lindsay wants answers from Garrett Yrigoyen.
The 29-year-old medical sales rep became a favorite on Becca Kufrin's season of The Bachelorette of the night, and he remains one of the last three guys competing for his heart on the screen. Off screen, he fought against an Instagram scandal after confessing to having enjoyed scoffing messages from feminists, immigrants and Parkland shooting survivors.
Yrigoyen apologized for his behavior in a statement last month and vowed to be better in the future. Kufrin defended him in an interview with ET – but Lindsay is not quite ready to put the problem to bed. While talking with Lauren Zima from ET on Monday, the former Bachelorette said: "I want to hear more than an apology, I want to hear an explanation.
With a visible connection to Kufrin, it is possible that Yrigoyen is the last man to run in the next Bachelorette season, and if Kufrin and Yrigoyen meet together, Lindsay would like to see both addresses issue. head on.
"They have to talk about it: Becca is a liberal and the things he liked were very conservative, far right, more than conservative [and] a little offensive, "she explained. "So I think they have to fix it now and have a game plan on how they will deal with the media."
"People will read the BS – do not try to cover it and put a" People will forgive you, "she advised, before noting her own scandal on social media, where the candidate Lee Garrett had racist tweets from the past.
"[I would handle it] probably the same way as I did with Lee, I said, I said," If you need a story lesson, I can give you a backstage. "That's how I would care about it," she recalls their confrontation at Men Tell All. "I should face it head-on and I would be pretty tough about it."
Lindsay, who hopes that Kufrin ends up with Blake Horstmann instead, says that she knows from experience how uncomfortable that can be for Kufrin, who could watch his season with another man. The Dallas, Texas native said that she had told her last choice – and her fiancé – Bryan Abasolo that she was falling for him on camera during his season, but he did not say it. has not been broadcast. Instead, the season focused more on the "drama" of his relationship with his second, Peter Kraus.
"I think it's great to show what Becca really feels for Blake," Lindsay said. "When I was looking at the episode [the July 9] my initial reaction was Whoa . I hope that she will choose Blake, because the one with whom she will sit will have a lot bad to hear all the things she was saying … He said that he was in love with her, she said that she felt the same thing and he does not know it I prays who's on the couch next to her is Blake, because if that's not it "
As for her favorites for the next franchise, Lindsay does not necessarily hope Wills Reid, the fan favorite, gets by – even if it would make him the first African-American Bachelor.
"I love Wills, I may not be the biggest fan like everyone else, but I think he's so nice, "she said, noting that season ratings could play a role in choosing producers." There is a huge difference [in ratings] of JoJo's [Fletcher’s] season to that of Becca, and I do not know if it is perhaps because the public is not approaching a diversified advance, but the figures do lie not. something there, there is a kind of disconnect. "
The 33-year-old lawyer also pointed out that she and Abasolo have fewer social media followers than the tracks of past seasons and their fiances, but expressed that the answer that 39, she got viewers has improved over time. "I think a lot of people have wondered about what Bryan and I had, and through this year, through the time, they've seen that it was real.
In fact, the two could not be closer. They recently made a trip to Spain, where he proposed. "It was so nice to go back and recreate it and be there without cameras," she shared. "We have so much in common, but we are also very different, there is a very good balance … We laugh, we are idiots and idiots."
This is one of the reasons why both will make it a success Bachelor in addition to Abasolo's support for his career ambitions. Lindsay recently made an appearance on ESPN, and said that fans could see more of her on TV in the future.
"Sport has always been a thing of mine … I love sport, and people do not realize it. I specialized in sports and I went to law and in sports law, so I always knew that I wanted to do ESPN but thought it would be behind the camera, "Lindsay revealed." After doing Bachelor and Bachelorette ] the media circuit, I thought, you know what – I want to talk about it! "
