Samsung has shared a new promo video for one of its smartphones, and this time around, we’re looking at the Galaxy A9 (2018) promo video. This recently-announced handset has four cameras on its back, and it’s the world’s first smartphone with such a camera setup, which is why Samsung actually emphasizes that whenever it gets a chance, and that includes this promo video. In this video, the company’s narrator takes a closer look at the phone’s rear-facing cameras. The top camera on the back of this phone is actually an 8-megapixel wide-angle camera, and it will provide you with a 120-degree field of view. The second sensor is actually a telephoto camera, a 10-megapixel one, and it offers a lossless zoom feature (2x), of course.
The third camera on the back of this smartphone is actually the phone’s main camera, it equips a 24-megapixel sensor, and it automatically adjusts to the environment. A 5-megapixel depth camera is the last on the phone’s back side, and it actually helps when you’re trying to get the depth of field in your shot. Thanks to this camera, you can actually manually focus in on your subject as much as you want, as it gives you blur controls. The company also emphasizes that the phone’s cameras can recognize scenes and optimize photos accordingly, and that it can take good portrait photos thanks to studio lighting effects. On top of all that, the company also mentions some of the phone’s specifications, and even Bixby, its virtual badistant. The video itself has a duration of about two and a half minutes, and if you’d like to check it out, it’s embedded down below.
Background: The Galaxy A9 (2018) was announced earlier this month, and it’s actually a mid-range smartphone. The device is fueled by the Snapdragon 660 64-bit octa-core processor, and it comes in both 6GB and 8GB RAM variants. The device is made out of metal and glbad, and it sports relatively thin bezels. A fingerprint scanner is placed on the back of this phone, while the device also includes a 24-megapixel front-facing camera, which was not mentioned in the promo video. A 6.3-inch fullHD+ Super AMOLED display is also a part of the package, and you can expand the phone’s storage up to 512GB via a microSD card. Android 8.0 Oreo comes pre-installed on the device, on top of which you’ll find Samsung’s very own custom UI, of course. The Galaxy A9 (2018) comes with a 3,800mAh battery, and it supports Quick Charge 2.0 charging speeds.
Impact: The Galaxy A9 (2018) is the first smartphone with four cameras out there, and yet it’s only a mid-range smartphone, not to say that is bad, or anything, but it’s surprising. It seems like Samsung is using this phone in order to test out multiple camera setups, in order to see what works. The Galaxy A9 (2018) does have plenty to offer, and it will be fun to put all of its cameras to the test, if we get a chance to do so soon, and that will hopefully be the case.
